Leaving the peaceful serenity of Noosa, and feeling refreshed and rested, our time in bustling Brisbane was spent with two friends who had decided to travel the East Coast in a camper van, and were generous enough to let us stay with them for the four nights we were in Brisbane. It worked out to be fairly useful for all of us, as we had several ideas of what we wanted to do so it meant we did the planning and they did the driving! The first afternoon was spent driving around the city, getting slightly lost and ending up strolling along the Southbank. Continue reading “Australian East Coast Part 2: Brisbane to Sydney”
I arrived in Cairns after long flights and feeling shivery and feverish thanks to the conjunctivitis that I caught in Fiji just a day earlier. Not the best start to a tropical exploration! Continue reading “Australian East Coast Part 1: Cairns to Noosa”
My second week in Melbourne saw me exploring more of the city itself. The Penguin Parade happens daily around sunset, and is magical, unique experience. Here’s my day trip from Melbourne to Phillip Island, visiting koalas on the way and seeing the Phillip Island Penguin Parade! Continue reading “Phillip Island Day Trip”
The seemingly gruelling 24 hour journey from London was actually fairly painless despite having to basically sprint between gates during my flight transfer. I must say that Qatar Airways did a great job at keeping everyone entertained and well fed, I hardly noticed that the flight time to Melbourne took so long!
Now I’ve had a day to figure out my bearings here’s a few things I’ve come to notice about Melbourne: Continue reading “First Impressions of Melbourne”
